The King Eddie Vineyard

The King Eddie Vineyard is an ancient sand dune, sloping down to a clay flatland, creating a variety of growing conditions within each vineyard row.  The slope has a south facing view of Lake Ontario - strikingly pretty and offering an excellent aspect for ripening fruit. Gamay Noir is a prolific grape -- one of the highest producers.   We usually go through the vineyard and thin a quarter of the crop, to achieve better ripeness in the rest.  Our Gamay Noir has a nice expression of strawberry aroma with a slightly peppery finish.
