Single Vineyard Series

Prince Edward County has some diverse micro climates and soils in a very close area.  Our Single Vineyard Series highlights the differences in the Terroir we manage.  Typically our winemaker will choose the best barrel from a vintage/vineyard/varietal and bottle it exclusively, so only 25 cases of each vineyard selection are available.

2023 Single Vineyard Selections

The 2023 Vintage was abundant in both yield and sunshine.  Typically the harvested grapes showed ripeness, rich flavours and sugars and reduced acidity.  A Good Year.

Magic Hill Pinot Noir

Our winery adventure began with the purchase of the Magic Hill vineyard in 2009.  Planted on a small stony hillock on Closson Road, this vineyard has consistently produced fine medium bodied Pinot Noir.

Back Acher Block Chardonnay

Part of the Kuepfer Vineyard at Broken Stone Winery, the tongue-in-cheek name of this block came from one of our friends who exclaimed after volunteering an afternoon of labour, "this back acre is a back acher!"

The labour has been worth it, as this Chardonnay has produced many award winning vintages, including the 2019 platinum medal at the Wine Align National Wine Awards.

King Eddie Chardonnay

Planted in 2000 by Richard and Vida at By Chadsey's Cairns winery, the King Eddie vineyard proudly overlooks Lake Ontario and partly stands with it's roots in sandy soil and rockly clay.  The mature vines, unique soil combination, and lake proximity make this a vineyard like no other in the County.   We are proud stewards of the vines and the wines exhibit complexity and depth.

KV
Cabernet Franc

Planted in 2013 by Tim and Micheline at Broken Stone Winery, the KV (Kuepfer Vineyard) Cabernet Franc  produces a more full bodied Cabernet Franc, while retaining some of the energetic acidity that is a hallmark of County Wines and make it an excellent with to pair with fine food.
